Contact the Mayor & the City Council
Mayor Robert G. Sabonjian and the Waukegan City Council need to
hear from you on the critical issues facing our city! Facing
massive budget shortfalls, the City is poised to recommend
drastic cuts in fire and paramedic protection for the citizens and
visitors to the City of Waukegan. We believe that the protection
of life and property is the number one priority for our elected
officials. Please contact Mayor Robert G Sabonjian and your representative
on the City Council.
Ask them to:
-
Reject the proposals to cut the life and property preserving capabilities of the Waukegan Fire Department.
-
Let them know that defending our citizens' life and property should be a main priority for city government.
-
Tell them you will be watching whether or not they support our city's firefighters and paramedics in
doing their duty to protect our city.

Dear Mayor and Council member,
As a concerned citizen, I am very upset to learn
that you are eroding our public safety. I am asking
that you keep public safety and especially fire and
paramedic response a top priority during these challenging
times. In the event that I have a fire or medical emergency
I expect my first responders to arrive soon enough to keep
the fire from getting out of control or assist me with a life
threatening medical emergency. Quality of life includes public
safety and you were elected to represent the priorities of the
citizens. I hope you will make sure that if I have to call 911
that my services will be provided at the highest level. As I
understand it, if you reduce my services I may actually have
to pay more for my fire insurance, which is unacceptable.
Please maintain our fire and rescue services.
